Frequently asked questions
The questions people ask before connecting an ad account to anything. If yours isn't here, email advestigatehq@gmail.com.
Data access & security
Can Advestigate change anything in my Google Ads account?
No — and this is a design property, not a policy promise. Advestigate only runs read-only reporting queries; the product contains no code that creates, pauses, edits, or removes campaigns, ads, keywords, budgets, or settings. We never modify your campaigns, full stop.
Then why does Google's consent screen say Advestigate could manage my account?
Google offers a single permission for its Ads API, and it covers both reading and making changes — there is no separate read-only version to ask for. So Google's consent screen describes it broadly, for every tool that uses the API.
What matters is what the software actually does with it. Advestigate only reads. If you want to see that for yourself first, run the full product on the built-in sample accounts without connecting anything.
What exactly do you access, and how?
You connect through Google's own OAuth consent screen (your password stays with Google). We then read reporting data via the official Google Ads API: campaign/keyword/ad performance, conversion action configuration, negative keywords, and account settings — the last 90 days. The complete list is in the privacy policy.
How are my credentials stored?
We never see or store your Google password. The OAuth refresh token Google issues is encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM) in our database and is deleted when you disconnect the account.
How do I revoke access?
Two independent ways: click “Disconnect” on the accounts page inside Advestigate (this revokes the token at Google and deletes it from our database), or remove Advestigate from your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Either one fully cuts our access.
Do you sell or share my advertising data?
No. Your data is used to generate your audits and for nothing else — not resold, not shared, not used to benchmark other customers, not used to train models. Our use of Google user data complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Details in the privacy policy.
What the tool does — and doesn't
What does an audit check?
30+ checks across six areas: conversion tracking integrity, wasted spend, keywords and negatives, ad copy and assets, budget and bidding, and structure/settings. Each finding names the affected campaigns and keywords and, where calculable, estimates the monthly cost. Browse the sample report to see all of them.
What does the tool NOT do?
It does not make changes of any kind: no campaign creation, no pausing, no bid changes, no applying its own recommendations. It is not an ongoing monitoring/alerting service, and it doesn't manage Meta, Microsoft, or other ad platforms — Google Ads only.
Which account types are supported?
Standard Google Ads accounts with Search, Performance Max, Display, Shopping, and Video campaigns. Search campaigns get the deepest treatment (keyword- and ad-level checks). You can connect any account your Google login has direct access to, and client accounts under any manager (MCC) account it can access — after connecting you choose which accounts to add.
Can I try it without connecting a real account?
Yes. Every trial includes three built-in sample accounts (local services, e-commerce, B2B SaaS). You can run the full connect → audit → PDF flow on fictional data before granting access to anything real.
White-labeling & agencies
How does white-labeling work?
On agency plans you upload a logo, choose a primary color, and set footer text and a “Prepared by” line. Every PDF you generate uses your branding with no Advestigate marks anywhere — your client sees your report.
Can I audit a prospect's account before they're a client?
Yes — that's the core agency workflow. They connect through Google's consent screen (an easy ask, since Advestigate has no code that changes anything), you run the audit, present the PDF, and disconnect the account when you're done.
How does multi-client management work?
Connected accounts appear in one dashboard with a client label on each. Audit history is kept per account, so a quarterly re-run shows the score change against the previous audit — useful for retention conversations.
Billing & cancellation
How does the trial work?
14 days, up to 2 connected accounts and 5 audits, no card required to start. When it ends, you pick a plan or walk away — nothing charges automatically.
How do I cancel?
Email advestigatehq@gmail.com from your account address and we cancel it, effective at the end of the paid period — no retention call. You can switch plans yourself in billing settings. Disconnecting your Google accounts is separate and available at any time regardless of billing status.
What happens to my data when I leave?
Google tokens are revoked and deleted the moment you disconnect. Audit history stays while your account is open. Email advestigatehq@gmail.com to delete your account and everything in it, and we do it within 30 days — see the privacy policy for specifics.
